Greece – World Solidarity Day
Every year on December 20, we celebrate World Solidarity Day. Solidarity is one of the fundamental and universal values that should govern human relations in the 21st century. In this context, students, teachers, and parents implemented an action with the main purpose of collecting goods to meet the needs of the Greek Children’s Village in Filiro, Thessaloniki. Thus, our school promotes solidarity, social sensitivity and offering with respect to our fellow human beings.

Greece – Sharing gifts with partners
We selected a book for each partner in English, with well-known Greek stories and sent them along with handmade Christmas cards.
Greece – Book-sharing
As part of the book-sharing activity among 2nd Grade students, we have chosen to create an annual lending library, in which students borrow a book each week. Friday is this special day of the week, because besides the usual subjects they spend time choosing a fairy tale from the lending library of their class.The benefit for the kids is double. Each kid will have read a lot of books for free. He will learn through the process « lend- borrow », the joy and the pleasure of “sharing”, “looking after foreign things”, “being responsible for his actions”. On Monday morning each reader presents the fairy tale to his classmates, in a few words.
Greece – Discovery of Values Story – “The Fox and the Grapes”
4th Grade students: Our students, after depicting the story of the fox and the grapes in comics, asked questions, came to conclusions and in the end the moral lessons that the myth teaches.- Is it right to give up trying something with the first difficulty?- When we fail to do something is it right to cover up the true with lies?- All people make mistakes. It is right to admit our mistakes and not to be selfish.- It’s not right to pretend that it’s the others to be blamed for something we cannot do ourselves. Moral lessons:
- It is easy to underestimate what we cannot achieve. We must acknowledge our faults and not blame others!
- It is easy to despise what we cannot get!
- It is easy to give up, but the real strength is built when we keep fighting until we succeed. In this story, the fox failed and left with bitterness.
Greece – Children’s Day and Universal Declaration of the Rights of Children
To remind and provide happiness to our children, not only celebrating the Children’s Day and existence of the Universal Declaration of the Rights of Children, our students from 3rd Grade constructed a Mural with phrases referring to Children and made a poster from Moment’s of Children’s Life.

Greece – Discovery of Values Story – “The Fox and the Grapes”
3rd Grade students:Our students, after hearing the story, which of course was known to them as one of the myths of Aesop, were asked to answer the following question:”What would you advise the fox if you were the bird of the story?”Some of the answers are:”I would give her the idea to take a plate and shake the tree so that the grapes fall in.””I would tell her to try again.””If you jumped higher you would catch the grapes.””Lady fox, if you can not catch the grapes I will bring them to you.”
Greece – Discovery of Values Story – “The Little Match Girl”
The students of the class after reading the story “The little match girl” for December 2022, agreed that the main value that comes from this is Solidarity.Then they made a poster with two children in the middle and helping hands around them. The students wrote in Greek and English what they would offer to help the girl in the story or any child in need (clothes, food, etc.).
